Film and television composer Leonard Rosenman died Tuesday of a heart attack at his home at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital. He was 83. Rosenman wrote the score for “East of Eden,” beginning Rosenman’s film career and won back-to-back Academy Awards in 1975 and 1976 for his work on “Barry Lyndon” and “Bound for Glory.” He won Emmys for his TV-movie scores for “Sybil” in 1976 and “Friendly Fire” in 1979. /AP

Identical triplets were born Wednesday at North Shore University Hospital on Long Island. The triplets’ mother, Allison Penn, was impregnated with just one embryo through in-vitro fertilization, said Dr. Victor Klein. That embryo split in half, and then one half of that split again, he said. Identical triplets are born at a rate between one in 60,000 and one in 200 million, depending on the research, Klein said. Newborns Logan, Eli and Collin Penn have to wear nail polish so their parents can tell them apart. /AP

The LAPD have busted two paparazzi for blocking a sidewalk in front of a shop where Britney Spears was getting her hair done and two other paps were arrested for the same reason at a nearby club where Lindsay Lohan was hanging out. At least 55 photogs tailed Spears to the B2V salon in West Hollywood, and two blocks away, 30 paparazzi were waiting outside the Villa nightclub for Lohan, /DN 6

Juan Luis Ochoa Anderson, a parking lot attendant who claimed he was punched by Omar Sharif, was awarded more than $318,000 in damages when the 75-year-old actor failed to show up for a deposition, according to court documents. Sony BMG is mad at Billboard for keeping the newly released 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” off its main album chart. Billboard typically leaves sales of older albums, including reissues featuring bonus tracks, off the Billboard 200 so the chart can act as a barometer of sales for new music. “Thriller” was the second-biggest album this week, selling more copies that Herbie Hancock and Amy Winehouse, who had big sales because of their Grammy success. /NYP 34

The New York Times today published a story suggesting John McCain had an affair with lobbyist Vicki Iseman eight years ago. Both McCain, 71, and Iseman, 40, have denied they ever had a relationship. /NYP 4

Patrick van der Eem, the Dutchman who befriended Natalee Holloway’s suspected killer and got him to make self-incriminating statements, is trying to sell the story.
